    Summary:
Would agree that this course is NOT worth the big bucks. It is in an area with a lot of fancy folks so you will pay to play in their yard. Course was nice enough. Had no problems with it as a 12 handicap as long as I kept my head on. No memorable holes. Condition was very good overall with a few ragged edges.

    Customer Service:
Pro shop was palatial as expected. Staff were first rate, eager to help.

    Summary:
Just got back from Naples. Stayed at the Ritz Carlton and played its well known Tiburon Black Course. The course was designed by Greg Norman. Played from the tips: 7005 yards. The course has a 74.2/147 rating. Expensive: $200 a round and $100 for Twilight after 4PM.
This course is a bull. Typical Norman. No roughs only fairway and jungle on the sides. Even if you hit to the edge of the fairway, there is a good chance the ball will end up in jail. A zillion waste bunkers that look like crushed shell and sandstone. A lot of the traps are thinned out with no sand under the surface.
My take: this course is not worth the money. Nice views but not exceptionally interesting layout. Doesn't feel fair and doesn't look like anything more than target golf at its extreme. I believe a true golf course should have first and second cuts of rough to challenge the golfer, not bush and bramble off every fairway to penalize any shot not in the short grass.

    Summary:
I played Greg Norman’s Tiburon Black Course in Naples, FL, a couple of weeks ago. The course is short at just over 6300 yards from the back tees. It does have championship tees that play at about 7000 yards. But don’t let the short back tees fool you! This layout is tight. Happily, the course is narrow by design, lush with tree lined fairways and not the homes and condos one usually sees dotting Florida courses. I used my driver three times, and my three wood once. The other tee shots on par fours and fives were irons. This course is tight, but fair if you know how to play it. The back nine opens up a little, but shot making is still a must to go around this track in a decent fashion. The greens were in great shape, but they were slower than I imagined they would be. I scored 86, and I hope to play it again some day knowing what I know now about where to place shots. The $80 summer rate is well worth it based on the condition of the course, and the exceptional staff and facilities. I highly recommend this golf experience!
