Additional Info:
Proving the old adage "appearances can be deceiving," the Melfort Golf and Country Club is a much more difficult golf course than its level and relatively open layout would suggest. Even though Melfort has existed since 1947, its official course record stands at only 68 - a testament to how challenging it really is.

Some of the difficulty can be attributed to an extensive water hazard playing through the centre of the course. However, most golfers experience problems with Melfort's small greens, which are hard to both hit and hold on. Their many deceptive slopes make reading your putts correctly a real challenge.

Of its many difficult holes, Melfort's 17th has developed a reputation as a game breaker. This long par three (216 yards) plays over water into a prevailing wind. Its severely sloping, tiny green is very tough to reach in one, and hole out in two.

Very nice course one of the best I have played in the NE. Small greens make you really work on your short game, and the final 15,16,17,18, a par 3,5,3,5 respectivly make the trip to the club house a place to really make something happen. Water comes into play on the back nine, and really puts the pressure on you to be accurate off the tee. Even though there was no Marshall on Staff, pace of play was very quick, and as a twosome with a cart we never ran up on anyone (Mid afternoon on a Saturday). Overall the Melfort Golf & Country Club is a nice little Gem on the edge of Saskatchewans prairie/Forest region, a definate must play if doing a NE, Saskatchewan golf swing.

Customer Service:
Everyone from the CPGA golf pro to the drink cart girl all had a smile on there face and displayed some great Saskatchewan hospitality, A fully stocked pro shop was a real suprise, some great equipment, and clothing deals to boot(Should have bought my Addidas Tour 360's there, beat Nevada Bob's by over $40).
