| | Reviewed by: euroterp, Shoots in the 80s Summary: A very charming golf course nestled along Chicago's North Shore. Like the rest of the area it has a distinguished older feel and seems much more like a country club than a municipal golf course.
Each hole has its own name and some are rather fitting. Especially hole 6, Botanic, which offers a great view of the adjoining Chicago Botanic Gardens. I didn't think there were any signature holes, but the entire course is very playable given its wide fairways and inviting greens.
The course is roughly 6500 yards from the tips, but it doesn't seem to play very long. Just about every hole is lined by trees, which are primarily used to separate individual holes rather than interfere with play. Nearly every hole is straight ahead and flat with the occasional sand trap or water hazard to keep you honest.
The tee boxes, fairways, and greens are in great condition. I do agree with other reviewer about the the greens being too soft and slow. But don't let this stop you from playing this course, which is probably one of the best in the Chicago area.
The practice facilities are great with a putting green, chipping area, and grass driving range (no mats). Customer Service: Staff seems friendly and helpful. Similar Courses Played: Highland Park Country Club is probably the most similar course in the area.

| | Reviewed by: hoags, Shoots in the 80s, from Chicago Summary: Don't play here. The people that run it are complete idiots. I scheduled a 36 hole outting for a large group and they FORGOT to mark the afternoon tee times in the book. What's worse is that I called two days before to confirm. Now for the course... The greens are slow and too soft. Half the fairways have water damage as they have severe drainage problem. The layout is decent. I am shocked that they have the nerve to charge $58. Customer Service: As I said before, they''re idiots. The only person who seems to have a little grey matter between his ears is the head pro. Similar Courses Played: None
