| | Reviewed by: LtDenton, Shoots in the 90s, from Winthrop Harbor, IL USA Summary: This course is a great play! Lake County Illinois is known for its nice, PUBLIC, courses and Shepard's Crook is no different. I played on a Sat. morning and the pace was excellent. I also had the pleasure of my buddy and I being paired up with the superintendent of the Zion Park District, who gave us a history of the course. The course is links play, with some trickey holes with woods. One hole, I call it "The Monster" is 600+ yards long, and it seems like you hit a thousand times just to get to the green. Excellent challenge, and the golf atmosphere is great also. No cut off, tank top wearing drunks out there, just serious golfers who want to play on a nice course. Customer Service: Excellent. Similar Courses Played: Good beer on tap at the clubhouse.

| | Reviewed by: Timothy , Shoots in the 80s, from Pleasant Prairie Summary: Excellent condition for a municipal course. Plays a bit slow on weekends, excellent pace during the week. Customer Service: always excellent--in the house and on the course. Weekend rangers could be more assertive. Similar Courses Played: Great all-around...quonset pizza in the restaraunt was a great touch.

| | Reviewed by: Brett, Shoot in the 90s, from Gurnee, IL Summary: the best golf value for walkers. $35 anytime! This is a great golf course, and its only 1 year old. Links style most of the way, with a few holes running through trees. Plenty of water and sand. This course is a plaesure to play. For some reason, it has been very windy every time i have been there, which makes for a great challenge. I have walked many rounds in about 3 hours time. Similar Courses Played: None
