| | Reviewed by: matrixops, Shoots in the 100s Summary: Recently I had the priveledge of joining the Berkshire CC and I must admit that the course has a lot of potential.
It is a par 70, 5683 yard, 68.1 rating, and 127 slope from the white tees. And about 500 yards longer from the blue tees.
Pros: Good layout for Kansas with excellent use of natural terrain. It is not the longest course in the area, but the use of trees and other hazards makes the course fun to play. The front nine, currently, is my favorite part of the course with nice use of rollin hills and narrow access to greens to keep the course interesting.
Cons: The amount of rain we have had recently (Aug-Sep 2005) has illustrated the shortcomings of the course drainage with large areas of water and mud present on several holes. Obvious turf/sod issues on the back nine (holes 14 and 17) along with some rebuilding of the tee box on 15 make the back nine in need of some work.
Other benefits of joining this course is that membership includes 5 courses in the area. Prairie View CC, Lake Perry CC, Maple Creek Athletic & Golf, and River Oaks GC. The last two are in KC, MO. At just over $300 a year, this membership is a bargain. Customer Service: N/A Similar Courses Played: Western Hills CC, Lake Shawnee CC
