Additional Info:
It''s been called the most visually stunning course in the world. It''s also been called an absolute "must play" by discerning golfers. But ultimately Wolf Creek Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada is always called one of the most incredible and unforgettable golf experiences they''ve ever had by those fortunate enough to play it. Located in Mesquite, Nevada, about an hour northeast of Las Vegas, this remarkable layout was ranked as "America''s Third Best New Upscale Public Course by Golf Digest" when it opened in 2001.
Carved through rugged desert canyons and with breathtaking mountain vistas at all points of the compass, Wolf Creek is blessed with dramatic elevation changes with some shots struck from literally hundreds of feet above the landing area. Yet every golfer from scratch to novice can enjoy the ultimate golf experience by choosing the proper set of tees. With no homes anywhere in site, this is traditional golf at its absolute finest!!!

| | Reviewed by: alyrn2007, Shoots in the 80s Summary: Wow, this golf course is beautiful. A couple of friends and I went from Houston, TX to Mesquite, NV just to play this course. We had paid and were teeing off the first tee when the sprinkler system started. When I asked RON (found out later he was valet personnel) what was happening. He threw his arms up in the air gave the “I don’t care” move with his shoulders and waved us away. When I asked RON again he stated “You should have teed off sooner, they are automatic and I guess you have to play that way” He then laughed and turned away. When asked if they would be turned off he continued to be rude. I was not happy with the way he was treating us. I went up to the pro shop because I was not going to waste my money. I had just spent $300.00 in the pro shop. My friends had also spent a good amount of money there. I do not know why he would treat customers the way he did. I spoke the manager and the pro shop clerk and they were nice and fix the sprinkler problem. I got a refund of my money and put my clubs away. I was so upset there was no way I would be able to enjoy playing golf on such a beautiful course. RON RUINED MY TRIP!!!! I did ride while my friends played and got great pictures. If you go have a great time and attempt to avoid RON “the valet” he is an older man who is very rude, has poor attitude and does not know one thing about customer service. The sunset makes the course even more spectacular.

| | Reviewed by: aussieLACA, Shoots in the 80s Summary: The course has stunning views as all other courses in this area. But $175 for the round is a joke. The Greens were VERY slow. If you pay $175, you expect excellent greens. If you pay $175, you expect great tee boxes...not shaggy and bummpy and slopey! This is so NOT worth the money. Customer Service: Terrible..i mean terrible. Don't ask for water or a bottled water, i mean seriously, you just paid $175 for a round of golf and take the turn and need water... Similar Courses Played: I've played local course and actually had another round scheduled at this course and cancelled. This course is SO not worth the MONEY...especially in this economy. Its about value and there was NO VALUE. So don't make the same mistake.

| | Reviewed by: robdmd99, Shoots in the 80s Summary: The course had a great summer deal in August 2008. $110 for 36 holes! My friend and I flew from San Jose, CA, first flight out to Las Vegas, drove out to Mesquite, played 36 holes, came back the same night! Great time out there. The course was simply awesome. Great conditions (considering in the heat of August), unbelievable and challenging layout, and incredible views! Wow! Not gimmicky either. I've played The Ranch GC in San Jose, but it had some holes that just didn't seem to match up to some great holes. Wolf Creek GC has every hole that is memorable! Negatives: 1) pro shop/restaurant, and snack shop on course closed way too early. 2) no showers in the facilities, 3) driving range ok. Customer Service: Only complaint I had was the snack shop on the course closed way too early. It was terribly hot and when we came by and needed refreshments, it was not available. Also, there wasn't a cart-person on the course to provide refreshments. Too bad.

| | Reviewed by: gm33021, Shoots in the 90s Summary: Where do I start. What a visually stunning Golf Course. Right from the first tee. The course does play at 5 hrs. But you need to for the amount of driving and walking to the next tee box. Just about every hole is signature hole. This course is shot makers course. I played this course very well. Putting the driver away and going with long irons off the tee box. Only issue I had was that the 18th had a temporary green but oh well what can you do. Oh and we accidently joined the "flipped over cart" list. Luckily no one got hurt. I don't know if I would drive 1 1/2hrs from vegas to play it again but I can say I have. Customer Service: Everyone was very helpful. No Cart Girl though Similar Courses Played: NONE LIKE IT

| | Reviewed by: traemonroe, Shoots in the 70s Summary: DON'T PLAY HERE
Where do I start? How about that the posted pace of play is 5:17? I can't understand how Golf Digest ranks this course so highly, it is not in the top 200 that I have ever played.
First of all they never should've built a golf course on this spot. It is amazing that they were able to, but the result is 12 approach shots where you can only see the very top of the flag. I don't mind that every once in a while, but it gets old after the first six holes are like that. Plus on 8 of 14 drives you can't see the landing area.
But the worst thing has to be the pace of play. It took us 1:45 to play the first five holes. From the sixth tee we could see that the group two ahead of us had two holes open in front of them, so we asked the marshall to talk to them. He said he would, but we were still waiting on them on the 8th hole.
It took 3 hours to play the front nine, and the group two ahead of us was just leaving the 10th tee. So I went in the pro shop to see what could be done. While I was in there two people called on their cell phones from the fourth and seventh hole wondering why play was so slow.
It took us 4 hours to play 11 holes (6.5-hour pace) but the marshal told us we were 6 minutes ahead of schedule! Half our group quit after 14. This place is a joke. Similar Courses Played: Scottsdale area
