    Summary:
Empire Ranch is back! I played here several years ago when my kids had participated in a free golf clinic. We returned several weeks later to find the course to be poorly maintained. The good news is that I had a friend come up to Reno in July to play golf for several days and he wanted to play Empire Ranch to visit a friend in Carson City. What a pleasant surprise! The former greenskeeper is long gone. The course was in great shape, the staff was friendly, and the overall experience was excellent. 27 holes that meander through the Carson River drainage. Glad to see that Empire Ranch is back on track!

    Customer Service:
Very good. Pro shop was friendly, course marshal was easy going, beverage cart girl checked on us often, and the draft beer in the bar was cold!

    Summary:
Nice course. 3-nine holes courses are each unique and inexpensive. Played 27 holes for $45. Course lies in wetlands, so accuracy is a must. Green were in great condition and very puttable. If you can keep your ball in the fairways, you'll shoot great golf.

    Summary:
Flat course. Has a variety of target and open fairway golf. Not too easy nor too difficult. It is in a wetlands area so you need to know where to place your ball on the fairway.

    Customer Service:
    Good service, friendly staff.

Reviewed by: John Bower, Shoot in the 90s, from Carson City, NV

    Summary:
"Tactical Training" on a municipal course. Leave the driver in the bag on most holes- position is far more important than distance. Architect was very crafty in placing bunkers such that, if you're unfortunate enough to find one, you frequently have a (terrifying) downhill shot to a steep green with a lake behind it. Greens are kept in superb shape, although fairways do get a little run down as is true of most muni courses. Staff is very courteous, teaching pros very helpful. A locker room is all the facility lacks in terms of amenities.

    Customer Service:
They'll always make every effort to get you off the tee when you call

Green fees are among the lowest in the area- a great bargain.

    Summary:
This course is set next to the Carson River and has all the natural beauty associated with a wild life refuge. The fairways and greens are well maintained and course layouts (3 nine holes) offers a variety of shot selection. Bring your water balls, as the course does use the natural terrain to its maximum.

    Customer Service:
Top notch staff. They make this course enjoyable.

    Similar Courses Played:
Restaurant food very good and large servings.
