| | Reviewed by: beerman3133, Shoots in the 100s Summary: Fairways are a little rough, greens were in great shape. Very open layout, with water coming into play on only a couple of holes. Very punishing to your clubs if you stray off of the fairway, the caliche soil has a lot of small stones embedded in it. For a base of this size, and with the retiree population, this course should be 18 holes, even with gas as expensive as it is, it is well worth the drive to base to play a round. I don't understand why they don't water more with the water from the treatment plant. Bring mosquito repellent, it was the only drawback on the outing. Customer Service: Excellent Similar Courses Played: I have played numerous military base courses, and unfortunately, Holloman's Apache Mesa is near the bottom in overall quality, it has the potential to be so much better. Great weather, great scenery, and a great base, needs great golf to go with it.
