| | Reviewed by: nick5429, Scratch Golfer Summary: This is an 18 hole mountain designed golf course. This course offers four sets of tees and uneven lies in fairways and roughs. This entire course is a blast to play. This is not a friendly course to mid to upper handicappers. This course also offers smooth greens and extremly hard par threes. Great views over the valley. Signature hole is # 11 a par three that has a big raveen in front and side of the green.
Do not walk this course, it also plays slow.
Customer Service: Friendly staff. Similar Courses Played: Eaglewood in Bountiful

| | Reviewed by: idaholefty, Shoots in the 80s, from Idaho Falls Summary: You will not walk this one. Magnificent view to the north overlooking the entire Salt Lake Valley. Fairways are generally narrow, linksy feeling affairs UP and DOWN the foot hills with most of the easy trouble coming from fairway bunkers. Shots tend to roll to the fairways and putts always break to the valley. We were stuck with some beginners who had a miserable day of it (thank heavens they had their fill after 9)...15ers and below will enjoy themselves. Visually the holes can get into your head. Buy a course guide for $3 but the distances quoted aren't absolute...190 yards was more like 220...even playing at 5000 feet. Lots of side hill lies. Not as tight as Hobble Creek though both play through the scub oaks. Not as "sweet" as Thanksgiving Point just around the mountain to the south. Customer Service: Played chicken with the beer girl on a 45 degree cart path with curbs on both sides...she won. Nice folks...no complaints...pro shop really should discourage beginners though.

| | Reviewed by: Ryan Davies, Shoot in the 80s, from Draper, UT Summary: South Mountain is one of Utah's finest courses. During the summer I play South Mountain at least once a week. It iw one of the best courses in Utah. The narrow fairways and steep mountain terrain make it quite challenging. The course is very well kept and will test your abilities. You will definately use all of your clubs at South Mountain. Green fees are reasonable too - $45-50 for a round of 18. Bring a few extra balls, you will need them on this course. If you enjoy beautiful vistas coupled with a great golf course, South Mountain is a must!
