| | Reviewed by: JordanM, Shoots in the 80s Summary: This is a Columbia Association course that has gone public. The regular fees are high, but you can usually get a discounted rate (online booking, twilight). The conditions are above average compared with their peers, and the layout is quite interesting. On some holes it looks like they didn't have enough space with the encroaching wetlands, trees, and/or townhouses but with an open mind and a straight swing the course is a lot of fun. Holes #2 and #18 are true 3-shot par 5s with two forced carries on #2 and a large elevation change on #18. On the par 5 5th one can hit a hybrid off the tee, an 8-iron second, and have a wedge in or bust a driver (keep it straight) and have only an 7-iron in. I also enjoyed the risk/reward of the driveable par 4 7th with a pond on the front/right and the challenge of the #1 handicap hole the 16th which is a 456-yard narrow par 4. The view on the elevated 17th tee is impressive and Fairway Hills is a good "target round" of golf. On the down side, this course would be difficult to walk. Customer Service: The staff was pleasant. Similar Courses Played: The Timbers at Troy

| | Reviewed by: John Hart, Shoots in the 70s, from Ellicott City Summary: If you enjoy target golf, this is a good challenge, esp. from the BLUE tee markers.Several holes require carry over wetlands areas and losing golf balls is, unfortunately, very common. Greens are among the best in MD. Customer Service: Most of the staff is attentive and courteous. Summer temps not so swift! Similar Courses Played: Driving range is adequate. Head pro, Joan Lovelace is excellent as teaching pro, as is Mike Carroll, Asst. Pro.

| | Reviewed by: Gilligan, 1, from Owings Mills, MD, USA Summary: I really hate this course. The starter is incredibly rude. He told me I had to hurry to the first tee because there was a long line behind me. That was not the case at all. I never saw anybody behind me all day.
The fairways are dried out and filled with divots. The greens offer no challenge at all. Customer Service: I was made to feel like an idiot. The starter made me hurry off the tee box. there were no golfers behind me or in front of me. Similar Courses Played: I think this place is a joke.
