| | Reviewed by: FiftySomething, Shoots in the 80s Summary: This has been my home course, off and on, since 1983. Started playing again in 2006 after an 8yr layoff. Butch Butler and the Air Station have done a great job updating/upgrading the facility. The greens are superb, well 17 of them. And they have managed to keep the fairways in good shape depite the fickle weather. A number of well-conceived bunkers have been added to toughen up the course a bit - that's the good news. The sand in those bunkers is highl;y variable. The practice tee is adequate and there's a very nice short iron/pitching hole in addition to a chipping green and practice putting green. The clubhouse is very nice and the 19th hole staff are attentive and friendly. This is a great military facility and a very interesting contrast to the courses at Andrews AFB. Customer Service: The pro is one in a million and absolutely perfect for this venue. I like the pro shop staff but some folkks find them a bit curt. The 19th hole folks are great.
