| | Reviewed by: Thomas Newell, Shoot in the 70s, from Rockland, MA Summary: Rockland is a par 3 course. I have heard it all before, I would never waste my time playing a par 3. Well, you'll be making a big mistake. You will be playing on some of the best greens in southeastern Massachusetts. (GREAT JOB - Eric) The majority of the tees are very good, but some of the short holes do show the wear and tear of iron play. They have 3 sets of tees at Rockland to accommodate all skill levels. Rockland has 7 holes over 200 yards. A couple of holes are 240+ yards. So don't leave your woods in the trunk. They are always doing something to improve the course, it gets a little better each year. This year they are building a new clubhouse with a restaurant and full proshop. Check the prices, as good as anywhere. (ready July 2001) The staff is pleasant and eager to help you with any of your golfing needs. When you finish tell Charlie Lanzetta (owner) what you think of the course. He is always happy to hear your comments. (GOOD or BAD) I think you'll find your comments to be all good. I have played a lot of different courses, you will not be disappointed. It is a challenge.
ps If the course is setup for tournament play, you'll do well to break 60. I don't care how good a player you are. They have an excellent junoir golf program. Last year they received an award from the PGA for having one of the best junoir golf programs in America.
