Reviewed by: BobHat, Shoots in the 80s, from Newton, MA Summary: GREAT course. Actually, it plays like three different courses. There are holes around the clubhouse #1,10,11,18 that play like links courses. No trees, just big mounds and lots of fescue. Hit it straight or else.
Most of the front nine #2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 is a traditional course. Some water, mostly long holes. Watch out for the par 5 4th. It's longer than you think to clear the water on your second shot.
The back nine, from 12 on are what makes this course different from so many others. These are REAL mountain holes with HUGE elevation changes and very few flat lies. Even in the fairways you have uphill, downhill or sidehill lies. These holes are very challenging.
Overall, this is a great layout. I highly recommend it. Customer Service: Where else but in northern NH can you get such friendly service. The people are great. I brought a friend up and after fifteen minutes in the pro shop and restaurant said "I can't get over how nice everyone is." Similar Courses Played: Driving range is natural turf, but is not in great shape. Practice putting green is superb. There is a practice sand trap but you really have to look for it. Or, just ask.
