    Summary:
I've played Royce Brook a couple times each year since it opened. Since its recovery after Tropical Storm Floyd, it's always been in fantastic shape. The West Course went private a couple years ago but now is accessible via an upgrade fee when space is available. The West is clearly better than the East but the East is an excellent track also. For 2003 the course is under new management, which is pinching pennies unfortunately. For instance, the small bags of range balls are no longer included in your green fees ($75 weekdays). But the fairways are carpets, the greens are generally perfect, and you have to think about what you're doing or you'll pay the price. You have to drive a mighty long ways to find another course of this quality. And you can easily pay more for a lesser course.

    Customer Service:
    Excellent.

Grill is excellent, though the dishes offered are a little too cute for hungry golfers.

    Summary:
Finally played the West course, which goes "private" in 2003. A tough course but most of the course is forgetable, Enjoyed the tough par 3's. Seemed like every green of over protected by bunkers. I like a well protected green, but allow some bump and run, once in awhile. In the same vein of golf course, Sand Barrens is a better course, as is Blue Heron East.

    Summary:
Took advantage of an internet special and played the West course one weekday for only $33 (usually about $100/rnd on the weekends)! The West course is a challenging and long links style course with about 200 bunkers (some of which are over 8' deep! Needless to say, it pays to hit the fairways.

The course was in great condition. Rate of play was quick and the facilities were superb. Royce Brook is a must play if you are in the area. It is a public course with country club feel and quality.

    Customer Service:
    Friendly, professional, courtious.
