| | Reviewed by: Prospy, Shoots in the 90s Summary: Red, white and blue are all walkable. The gold 9 is like a totally different course, plays up into the hills. Course is normally well maintained, but the staff could use some people skills. Grumpy old men. Course gets a lot of play, so rounds can get to 5 1/2 hours on occasion.

| | Reviewed by: Dennis54, Shoots in the 80s Summary: These 36 holes are very challenging. There are a couple of unfair greens (#12 on W/B comes to mind), but overall this course is the best value in North Jersey. Customer Service: Starters and clubhouse personnel are generally friendly, but Mooris county policy of checking w/ starter several times before being able to pay and then waiting again before going to tee makes it diff Similar Courses Played: Only ball "lost" was to the guy cutting the grass.

| | Reviewed by: Joe, Shoot in the 80s, from Madison, NJ Summary: Fairways and Greens are in great condition. With all of the recent rain, everything is lush and green. Flanders is one of the nicest public courses I've played. There are several EXPENSIVE "country club for a day" courses better than Flanders, but for the price there is no competition. Customer Service: Tee times are made through a phone in system that levels the playing field for everyone to have a shot at getting a tee time. Similar Courses Played: None

| | Reviewed by: James Ivey, Shoot in the 70s, from Morris Plains, NJ Summary: I've been consistantly playing at Flanders valley for the last twenty five years and have saw a lot of changes with the 36 holes. It use to be a better golf facility, and a more difficult golf course to play. They have cleared out just about every trouble spot on the 36 holes.
The above is not the problem many others and myself have with the courses (RG/WB). The problem is the up keep from the greens and maintenance crews. Over the past three seasons the courses have deterioated to the point that they cannot possibly be considered a must play any more. The greens for the most but are horrible, and the fairways have more divots than grass. It is so obvious that the reletively new greenskeeper does not really know how to run his crew or have any real knowledge of course maintenance.
It's a shame that this once beautifully manicured facility is now no better than any other sub-par golf course in the area. I'm sure if managemant took charge and would occasionally survey the courses - then maybe they would see like every other long time patron of the facility that something or some action needs to take place before the courses are ruined beyond repair.
THEY NEED A EXPERIENCED GREENS KEEPER Customer Service: The alloted times for cancellation are ridiculous. We used to be able to cancell tee times by mid-night the night before. Now we have to cancell by 5:00pm the day before. Also there is a $2.50 surcharge if you play before 10:00am on the weekends. Similar Courses Played: None

| | Reviewed by: Dale, Shoot in the 80s, from Rockaway, NJ Summary: Flanders Valley sports 36 holes with the White-Blue being the greater challenge. The Red-Gold 18 is better than average, however take a cart to negotiate the hill Gold nine with long walks from green to the next tees. At the present time the courses do not have a greenskeeper and the course condition is only average. Fairways and tees are regularly overwatered and the sand traps are horrendous. There is little sand in them.
Many holes are tree-lined putting a premium on straight drives, though the fairways are generous. The greens are in very good condition and are mowed to an ideal speed. The fairways, too, are in good condition although often waterlogged due to too much water.
Customer Service: NJ starters are netorious for their "attitude". We just have to deal with it here. Similar Courses Played: None
