| | Reviewed by: John , Shoots in the 90s Summary: This is a course that you can play every day and never get bored with it. Every hole is unique with no boring "back and forth" parallel fairways. The greens can be very tricky and getting on in regulation is no assurance of a par. It is very challenging (especially the back nine), but it is a good layout and you never feel beat up by the course. Customer Service: The golf Professional and his staff are just that, very professional. The Grounds Superintendant does a great job in a very challenging climate.

| | Reviewed by: 22man, Shoots in the 70s, from Saratoga Springs, NY Summary: A classic upstate NY course, 77 years old, with no two holes the same. Every club must be used well to conquer this layout. Greens are, typically for its age, smaller than average, but quick and true. Pro Shop has won Best Retailer Award from the PGA and the Professional, Todd Manderson, is just that - professional. Condition and playability belie the cost of membership, which is the best value in the area. Customer Service: The best. Similar Courses Played: Restaurant is average, driving range features new golf balls every year, two putting greens for paractice.

| | Reviewed by: nunziodog, Shoots in the 70s, from Mechanicville, NY Saratoga Summary: Ballston Spa CC has a very interesting layout. The course is superbly maintained and the greens are some of the best in the Capital District. The club's staff is committed and proud of the facility. This is the best value for golf in the area, member owned and member managed. Similar Courses Played: Grass driving range, well maintained grounds and an A1 proshop.

| | Reviewed by: w2usn, Shoots in the 80s, from Ballston Spa, NY - USA Summary: An extraordinary value. The club is member owned and governed. The course conditions are among the best of all clubs. The layout challenges both the long ball hitter and the high handicapper. A creek meanders through the layout providing tempting opportunities to score an occasional birdie.
The best way to sum it up is a quote from a local newspaper, “The Saratogian"
The Club has always placed golf above all else. There is no elaborate clubhouse what they have presently has sufficed for 71 years, there is no reason to change. There is no swimming pool, no tennis courts. Golf is what it's all about at Ballston, period.
Second: The Club boasts a supportive staff and a camaraderie not found at other courses. Members are quite willing to pitch in and help when needed. Their member work days (two a year) have served as a model for other clubs in the area.” Customer Service: Pro and staff try their best to get you out of car and on to course as quickly as possible. Pro willing to help small groups get out together. Similar Courses Played: Turf driving range. Hit practice shots off of well maintained grass instead of driving mats.
Outstanding variety of merchandise priced to sell in a newly renovated pro-shop.

| | Reviewed by: Richard Chapman, Shoot in the 100s, from Ballston Lake NY US Summary: Although I am new to the game of golf, Ballston Spa Country Club was THE best course that I have played in the capital district region. The course is not a very long one but it is extremely challenging. The fairways were in excellent condition, and the greens were also impressive, although EXTREMELY challenging. Similar Courses Played: None
