Reviewed by: Joshua Zwick, Shoot in the 80s, from New York

    Summary:
Latta Lea is a little gem of a par 3. I grew up in Rochester and currently live in NYC, and I still love to make the trip back to where my golfing life began.

The course has holes ranging from about 80 to 130 yards with a meandering stream and some ponds that add some difficulty. The course is extremely well-maintained (not like a country club, but it is always well-watered) which compliments the natural beauty of the rolling terrain.

This course represents an ideal opporunity to work on your wedge play and is a great place to take someone who is just learning. Although beginners can often slow down the pace of play, it never seems to bother me...perhaps because the whole experience is so low-key and pleasant.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone who's swinging through or who lives in the Rochester area and has the itch to get in a quick 9 holes. The place hasn't changed much in the last 20 years; it still feels like you're going to a drive-in movie. It's quaint, low-tech, friendly and intimate, but most importantly, eminently enjoyable. Besides, it's always fun to tell people you shot 27.
