| | Reviewed by: Amish Pirate, Shoots in the 90s Summary: Course it self is a very nice challenging layout. Front nine is the better of the two. Condition of the course went downhill last year from when I played it early in the season, not sure they were use to running a premium course, rough got beaten down, sand traps one would be soft and fluffy the next like a rock. Greens were pretty constant and nice. Customer Service: Horrible. Played there 3 or 4 times with a traveling group last year. Each time we went they had different rules. Early in the year you could take your cart out to get your clubs, later you had to have the cart boys take hem or carry them in. Got there 15 minutes early and wanted to drive the cart down to the snack shop to get a hot dog and was told you couldn't have the keys until it was your turn to go to the tee box. Guess they don't really want you to use the range and snack shops both which are a pretty good distance apart. Afternoon manager was rude when asked questions about playing additional holes since the website said "twilight play until dark." This course could be a gold mine if they got strong management like Golden Oaks has. Similar Courses Played: Golden Oaks is similar in length and toughness but light years ahead in player friendliness and conditioning for the same price.

| | Reviewed by: peter@galgano.com, Shoots in the 80s Summary: The Berkleigh Country Club was built in the 1920's, and as a private club hosted the Ladies Betsy King Open for many years.
Recently, the club was sold to a neighboring stone quarry, who have leased it to a very well qualified owner.
The great news it is now a public course!!!
It's a wonderful layout, and it's in great shape. A must play!!!
Customer Service: Very good service, they have a great old clubhouse which should reopen. Similar Courses Played: Reading Country Club, Golden Oaks Golf Course, now Berkleigh Country Club and the wonderful Woodbridge Golf Course. Berks County has great public golf!!!
