Summary:
What a mess, this course was pretty bad when i played it 5 years ago (some things may have changed).
Far too many blind shots, sometimes you stand on the tee and have to think hard as to where the fairway actually IS.
Rocks/little sand in the bunkers.
Generally lame layout, nothing special to report here.
We had set up a very early tee time a few days in advance, 7 AM. When we showed up at 6:50 the place was DESERTED, not a person in sight. At 7:25 one of the staff wandered in and acted VERY put out that we wanted to pay up quickly and get out on the course. Just rude!
Another time we played here for a charity event, and they had 3 foursomes shotgun start on each hole, with the whole outing shoehorned into the front 9. And the other 9 was more or less empty! Needless to say the first 9 took over 3.5 hours to play, and we ended up not finishing because of darkness.
The grass was very healthy and the conditions were decent when we played here.

Customer Service:
Some people are friendly but some of the staff was rude, you should NEVER act put out when someone arrives for their designated tee time. I think the management here just doesn't get it.

I've played most of the courses in the area. I'm not sure if Great Bear is still open to the public, but it is the best course in the area by far.
