| | Reviewed by: publicgolfguy1, Shoots in the 80s Summary: Played on October 10..Excellent public course..strong holes #1,4,5,9,11,13,14,17 &18. The only throw away was #6. Fairways and rough were as good as a private facility. Greens were rolling smooth but could have more speed. Very enjoyable. Used every club in the bag. Customer Service: Staff was courteous, not a busy day when I was their. Pro shop attendant was helpful and starter was nice. Similar Courses Played: Bartender was a hottie. We had trouble getting out to play the back nine. She made me forget how awful I played #9!

| | Reviewed by: sethmac, Shoots in the 80s Summary: This course has the most potential of any course that I have seen. It is tucked away in the back woods of Cranston but still just 5 minutes away from the highway. Being from Cranston myself, I would love nothing more than to support my local golf course, but can't do it with so many nicer, less expensive courses around Rhode Island and nearby Mass. The fairways, greens, tee boxes, sand traps, and the rough are all in very poor condition. They are getting the cash flow that they need to fix this course up, but spend it on pointless things like new black tee boxes (which are just at the back of the existing tee boxes!!) and the new 8th green which is the most poor design that I have ever seen for an island green. The thing that really pushes me away from this course is the price. It isn't much more than the other courses in the area, but it is not worth what they get. If you have a course that isn't "up to par" then don't charge "over par" prices!!!!! Customer Service: Very nice unless you try and give them constructive critism! Similar Courses Played: Driving range isn't bad except for the hitting area.

| | Reviewed by: Adam Rodenboh, Shoots in the 80s, from Bear, DE Summary: This course is the boot camp of golf courses. Great layout, but in terrible condition. Tees are not well kept, fairways require preferred lies, rough is inconsistent, and there are problems from green to green with drainage, speed, grass type, etc. The bunkers are badly situated and in awful condition. Plan on adding at least 25% to your handicap to make your way around this place. I also believe the greens fees to be overpriced and the gas carts are uncovered and in disrepair. There have been many improvments made over the past few years, but mostly it appears that improvement capital was not well spent. There are new men's tees that make no sense when viewed in perspective to the rest of the course. The new 8th island green is fantastic, if the 8th tee box were situated where the 3rd green currently is, but with the tees where they are, you can't see the green and the angle of tee shot is far too difficult a target from the rearward tees. It makes the TPC at Sawgrass seem like child's play. This one hole can be responsible for ruining any medal play round. Hopefully, someday the owners/investors/whomever will rennovate this beautiful Geoffrey Cornish design and breath life into this potentially fanstastic country club. Customer Service: Friendly to members and locals, but a bit aloof to the general public. Similar Courses Played: Bar is uninteresting and kitchen is just about adequate.
