| | Reviewed by: Bill Luther, Shoots in the 80s, from San Diego Summary: One of my favorite local courses. This is an "old style" course, not too long, small greens. Stray here and you can score some big numbers quickly. Usually only in fair condition however the greens are almost always good. Customer Service: Muni Similar Courses Played: I like the deck and old club house lobby. Very traditional.

| | Reviewed by: Chris Stanton, Shoot in the 80s, from San Diego Summary: In my opinion, Balboa Park offers the best value in San diego. If you reside in San Diego, an anual $12 resident card will grant you green fees of $19 weekdays $21 weekends and $10.50 twilight. This is not the best maitained course in San Diego, but keep in mind that this is a municipal course which see's heavy traffic during all seasons. Balboa in not a long course but don't let the slope rating fool you. Accuracy, not length is at a premium here. The greens can be hard and fast without much undulation, but putt relatively true. While not the worst course to walk, much of the course winds in and out of canyons that may grant a lucky bounce or two. Similar Courses Played: Mats only range. Almost all stations are on un-level ground

| | Reviewed by: Christopher Marshall, Shoot in the 100s, from San Diego, CA Summary: The course isn't maintained that well, they certainly are not the most challenging holes, and much of the area of Balboa Park that is covered by the course isn't the most scenic, but this course is great. Its purpose is not to be a major tourism draw or a stop along the tour. Its purpose is to be a fun local municipal course. It is regulation length and make-up and it is a rare time when someone comes off the course complaining. Its not Torrey Pines or some other major patch of grass, but its purpose is a good time for the local golfer and it nails it. Similar Courses Played: The 19th hole is a San Diego landmark, but is CONSTANTLY empty and the waitress is CONSTANTLY running around frantically
