| | Reviewed by: mnoga, Shoots in the 70s Summary: Overall an excellent layout with many tough solid golf holes. You will need to play the course several times to determine optimal placement of both tee and approach shots. Landing areas are fairly generous and bunkers are strategically placed. The backside will probably play tougher than the front due
to larger elevation changes and three rather unique holes that demand long accurate tee shots. Kudos to Fred Couples for providing level approach shots on most holes. (How often have you played a so-called Championship layout and found several severely uphill or downhill approaches that make club selection just guesswork.) Furthermore, I can only think of one hole that required an uphill tee shot, and its uphill slope was minimal. The greens were a little slow due to light top-dressing and verticut procedure. However, greens rolled very true and were quite firm. I'm sure greens will be in top notch condition in a week or two. Fairways also were in good shape, but we did find a few areas that had been overwatered. Bunker maintenance could have been better also, but some of that was function of "hackers" not knowing how to rake a bunker. Comparing to some of the other high quality daily fee courses in the Bay Area/Monterey/Santa Cruz it probably falls in the top 10 just behind courses like Spyglass Hill and Pasatiempo.
And it is better than courses like Cinnabar Hills, Eagle Ridge, Poppy Ridge, and Poppy Hills. Customer Service: Very good and friendly. Beautiful driving range and chipping/practice areas.

| | Reviewed by: rbt, Shoots in the 90s Summary: Everything about this course is nice, from the practice facilities on up. Unique holes, great conditioning. But, I think it's a little too hard for even the 90s golfer to use as his 'regular' course. There's just no let-up on this track, which makes it a proper challenge for any golfer, but it also means you could be in for a frustrating round. The 18th hole is as tough a par 4 as I've ever played; it's even tough if you try to play it as a par 5, with tree blocking the fairway 100 yards out. Customer Service: Great. Twilight rates in the Summer are a steal for the quality of the course

| | Reviewed by: Concordgolfer, Shoots in the 90s Summary: Played on 4/10/03 and the course was uncrowded and in good shape. The no out of bounds is good, however trying to find a ball is damn near impossible pn some holes (the weeds are 3 feet high). Most golfers must think that too and just drop another ball. Found 5 balls in 2 minutes on one hole. Maybe they have changed their cart rules, however the day we played they allowed the 90 degree rule and only closed off fairways to carts on 2-3 holes. Customer Service: Bar was great, prices reasonable. Pro Shop wouldn't discount prices on multi-shirt purchase (you know, "buy 3 & I'll knock 10% off).

| | Reviewed by: John Van Hoomissen, Shoots in the 90s, from Charlottesville, VA, USA Summary: The finest course I've played and that compares with many Country Club courses. The fairways and superbly maintained and while there is no out of bounds on the course, you are appropriately punished for leaving the short stuff. The wind on the back 9 late in the day really gets you thinking about how to play the holes instead of just point and shoot. This course has become home to our "annual family tourney" and is the highlight of the vacation. It's outstanding, FUN, and tough for the typical Joe shooting 90 (aka me). Customer Service: Friendly staff that seems to know their stuff; bar staff was excellent Similar Courses Played: High quality rental equipment

| | Reviewed by: zach9173, Shoots in the 70s Summary: This is indeed a nice track as everyone elsse has stated. The only issue I have is they never allow carts on the fairways. Many of the cart paths are a long way from the fairways and walking definitely seems like a you walk less. The only issue is some of the holes can get pretty steep up and down. Overall nice course just wish you could take the carts in the fairways or it wasent so hilly that walking dosent sound like much fun. Customer Service: service is ok. But how many people can you afford for a course in the middle of nowhere... Similar Courses Played: range, clubhouse and bar are GREAT!!!
