| | Reviewed by: jim, Shoots in the 70s Summary: If I could only play one course year around in California, this would be it. Site of Tiger's "Battle" for 3 years, television viewers can get an idea about what golf nirvana is all about. Challenging but fair, every hole is unique and memorable. The course gets progessively more spectacular as your round progesses to a back nine of canyons and vistas that are breathtaking, leading to one of the most incredible finishing holes I've seen. Phil Mickelson's home course. Robert Trent Jones II's masterpiece. Customer Service: Exemplarly. The staff exudes a positive attitude.

| | Reviewed by: Kevin O'Rourke, Shoot in the 80s, from San Diego,CA, USA Summary: This course opened for play in Nov. 1999 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The clubhouse opened in Nov. 2000 and has quickly established itself as the premier private club facility in Southern California. The golf course plays from six different sets of tees and is rated with a slope of 145 (74.5 rating) from the back tees (par is 71). Several carries of approx. 200 yards are required for some of the par fours and one of the par fives. The course maintenence is superior with the greens reaching near perfection owing to the new strain of bent grass used. The fairways were not overseeded this winter allowing them to maintain their original seeding and therefore the original integrety of the facility has been maintained. There is not a finer golfing experience available in this part of the country. Customer Service: The people who work there really seem to enjoy their workplace and their surroundings. They were courtious and pleasant without exception. Similar Courses Played: The breathtaking architecture of the Tuscan-like clubhouse is unique.
