    Summary:
I am a member (though not the club president) at CordeValle and stumbled across this website while on vacation and looking for a course. I have been a golfer for over 50 years and had never joined a club until joining CV. The course is actually a destination resort run by Rosewood (previously managed by Auberge resorts)and everything is 1st cabin, including food, facilities, spa, etc. It is pricey, but the service is exceptional.

My focus is the golf course. You start by being met in the parking lot by a person who loads your clubs on a cart. The practice facility is great, with greens and flags to shoot at and a practice set of bunkers. Make sure to use the practice bunker because there is an ocean of sand at CV which is typical of a Jones course. Four sets of tees accommodate all golfers and give the course as much variety as one could ask for. Not sure what the green fees are for those not guest or referred by a member, but whatever they are, you can enjoy the round that much more by springing for a caddie. The caddies are pros and well worth using liberally. One final thought--on the day I joined the Club, I met a guest at the driving range. He was staying at CV after viewing the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. He was a PGA professional and currently the head pro at Austin CC subsequent to Harvey Penick's death. I asked him his opinion of the course and his response was "if they grew the rough, they could play the U.S. Open here tomorrow."

All in all, a day a CV is well worth cost and will create lasting memories.

forget what the previous guy said - i've played this as a guest 3 times and the staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. CordeValle is a wonderful course. Bring your A game, you will need it, and brush up on your short game before you come.

    Customer Service:
    as pleasant as could be

    Summary:
The first review was obviously written by the club pres. This course is snootyville central. The whole attmosphere here gives golf a bad name. The members here can't live in H'wood and play at Bel Aire, so they pretend. a group of pompous jerks. New money, you know.

    Customer Service:
They treat you like king....and charge accordingly.

Reviewed by: George, Shoot in the 80s, from Halm Moon Bay, CA

    Summary:
A private course in the foothills off Hwy. 101, this Robert Trent Jones Jr. course is a beauty. No two hole are alike and you'll remember each and every one of them. There are elevated tee boxes, elevated tees, cross hazards, water hazards and some delightful views of the central California hills.

Trent Jones Jr. paid tribute to some of the old master architects here, with Alister Mackenzie bunkering on some holes, Donald Ross greens on others, and some fun design concepts of his own too.

This facility is always in perfect shape, and is expertly run. A clubhouse and members' lodge are under construction, as is a wine tasting room (6/25/00). Memberships are currently priced at $175,000.
