Reviewed by: vmitch2, Shoots in the 70s Summary: An absolutely stunning course set in the hills above Lake Chelan. Some of the views from the many elevated tee boxes are just incredible. I Played it on a beautiful summer day and couldn't ask for anything better. As an added bonus, there were deer everywhere, some even bedded down right beside the fairway. Once you get past the beauty of this course, however, you begin to realize that there is a stern test of golf before you! Lots of elevation changes, long par 3's, longer par 4's, and a 630 yard par 5 with a third shot over a gulch as a finishing hole. The first hole's fairway is a little gimmicky with a split about 200 yards out on either side of a large fir tree. Other than that, the course is nicely layed-out through the hilly terrain. For a young course, even for ANY course, the greens are in outstanding shape - not a mark on them. Can't wait to play here again! Customer Service: Excellent. As it was our first visit, they were very helpful, particularly the starter. He provided lots of useful tips on how to play the course, especially the first hole. Similar Courses Played: Hard pressed to find a similar course, that I've played anyway. Terrainwise, it reminds me of Trophy Lake, and although Trophy Lake is pretty, Bear Mountain blows it away. Hole for hole, Bear Mountain kills Apple Tree - not even close.
