| | Reviewed by: H Horres, Shoots in the 80s Summary: Don't waste your time going to Bent Brook without a collar on your shirt. They don't tell you its required when you call for a tee time, but they will sell you an overpriced one when you get there. Of course there is a sexist rule that allowes women to play without a collar, which makes no sense at all. And they should pay as much attention to getting players to repair ball marks as they do to what they wear. The greens looked like the surface of the moon, there were that many craters. Customer Service: We found the staff indifferent and thought the shirt collar requirement rediculous, if not self serving, since there are no stores in the immediate area to buy a shirt. For anyone who has come a long way to play, this is a great incovenience. I have seen Tiger Woods play the PGA with a collarless shirt. And don't look for a feedback link on their web site. They don't want any. Similar Courses Played: The parking lot was nice.

| | Reviewed by: Torrey Moore, Shoots in the 80s, from Muscle Shoals, AL Summary: Excellent course to visit. I will be back. You will use a lot of different clubs and the course demands some accuracy on the water holes, but usually there is plenty of landing area. Customer Service: The staff was very helpfull. If you are not familiar with the area, they can get you there with no problem. Similar Courses Played: Excellent putting green and driving range.

| | Reviewed by: kwajy, Shoots in the 70s, from Overseas Summary: Nice course in Birmingham. Public facility but always in great shape. My biggest gripe with the course is "No Character"...should change with time as
the trees mature, but right now it is very wide open and not too challenging unless the wind is up. Still a nice course and kept in great shape! Customer Service: Great folks up front

| | Reviewed by: Pete, Shoot in the 70s, from Birmingham,AL Summary: A very nice facility open to the public. 27 holes. Brook and Graveyard nines are the toughest. Windmill nine the easiest. Weekend rates including cart are $55.
As of mid-August, 2001, course is in excellent shape - stay out of rough, though. The course has generous fairways but the bermuda rough is very difficult - have to look directly down on the ball to see it in some spots. Greens are in nice shape, very big and relatively flat, but are putting very slow, even on downhillers! Hit the uphill puts with some authority.
Have just added computerized GPS screens to carts to present hole layouts and distances from cart location to middle of greens, etc. A big help for visitors.
In my opinion, from back tees, hardest holes on each nine are: Windmill-#1,9; Brook-#2,5; Graveyard-#4,7.
When wind blows, course can be very tough since it is relatively open with few trees blocking the wind. Can hit a lot of greens since they are very large, but can have difficulty two-putting with 60+ footers possible if your iron game is off a little.
Overall, it is very fun to play and play usually moves at a 4hr pace, even on weekends. You can take carts off the path.
Course has been used for Bruno's SPGA tournament Monday qualifying round. Customer Service: Very easy to get tee times. Call 4 days in advance. Similar Courses Played: First class operation all around. Nice, large driving range. Cordial staff.

| | Reviewed by: Mike Whitton, Scratch golfer, from Gardendale, Al, USA Summary: I have played the course off and on for around 8 years. Usually in excellent condition. A public course with private club amenities. Bent Greens usually in very good shape. Tees and Fairways are bermuda grass and are also in excellent shape. A recent change in course superintendent was welcome. Course much improved. Customer Service: Have played here for a number of years. Usually, tee times are very easy to make. Similar Courses Played: Have always found the personnel-(both Golf shop and Restaurant),to be highly professional and responsive to customer needs.
