| | Reviewed by: brad davis, Shoots in the 70s Summary: Played The tides recently and had a great time. It's an older course with a lot of maturity. Really enjoyed how the front 9 was a nice warm up and not too hard and it lead into a really scenic and playable back 9, with some spectacular scenery of the Gulf of Mexico. Who could ask for more out of a round of golf. Well, me actually because the 19th hole in the clubhouse will definetely quench your thirst when you are done! Customer Service: Staff was very friendly and Darrell in the golf shop was very knowledgeable about the property and area. Similar Courses Played: TPC tampa

| | Reviewed by: joe68odessa, Shoots in the 80s Summary: this course sucks. its short, the holes are jammed in together, balls are flying at you from all directions, and the course conditions are horrendous. i cant believe the prices they charge to play a dump like this. i rate TPC Tampa Bay like a 9/10. this course i would rate at a 1/10. this isnt what golf is all about. Customer Service: they were ok Similar Courses Played: maybe Twin Brooks in Gulfport, haha

This is one of my favourites as it's close to the Madeira Beach where we were staying but apart from that, the whole course has been overhauled and is now excellent to play. They have replaced all of the greens and have put a lot of big bucks into cleaning up and opening up the whole course so it's really nice to visit as an old friend with a brand new outlook! The opening hole doesn't look that spectacular as a staight away par five but not many pars are registered here. The #2 hole is quite short for a par 4 at 319yds. dog leg right around water which is always fun, it looks so easy but I haven't played with anyone that has pared it yet including yours truly. The #9 par 5 is a great test, a big sweeping left hander around a good size pond with the 2nd. shot to the hole protected by a huge tree at the apex of the turn towards the green, so you better take care to place your drive accurately to set up for a good 225 yards or so to the green. The tee shot has to be very accurate or you'll be staring at bogie or worse. You start this front 9 with a par 5 and finish with a par 5 with some very good holes between. The back 9 is every bit as interesting with holes designed to provide a test but not unfairly so. The sixteenth is a big sweeping lefty, finishing over water. Depending on how big a chunck you can take with your drive with placement vital or you'll pay the price of not being in position for a decent approach to a smallish green. The back finishes with a very tough par 4 and if you can finish with a 4 you feel a real sense of accomplishment! Leaving the course I felt like I haven't been beat up so I'm coming back and I'm going to get closer to par next time! I can hardly waite. This is a very golfer friendly layout! Customer Service: The staff seem to go out of their way to be helpful and arrange games with the locals. This is a very good neighbourhood course Similar Courses Played: Very friendly staff.
