    Summary:
This one is easy. It is not a links course. There is no deep bunkers. The wildlife is not special. We have more in the backyard.
The greens were ok actually green. Fairways ok. Teeboxes are fine, but nothing special. They do have a driving range. Not sure what it costs. We did not have time to warm up (did not need to as well).
We played in the afternoon and were told, to play on after 9 holes. At one point some guy came and said we need to stop and play back. Clearly he just wanted to go home. Over all, not exactly worth alot of money but for 12 bucks I go back. Better then hitting balls.

    Customer Service:
Girl in the snackbar was nice and the prices were ok. Guy in the proshop was nice. Marshal was not acceptable. Oh, and I was picked up with my clubs from an older gentleman although I only had to walk about 30 yards. A poor attempt to get a tip.

    Summary:
I played this course in the summer of 2002, a relatively slow time for golf in the Sarasota area. I paid 25 bucks and it was worth the money. That's about how much a similar course in Kentucky would cost. However, this course is not worth whatever they charge during peak season. The guy in the other review hit the nail on the head. This is not a links course. Conditions were nice, but the layout was nothing to brag about. Ted McAnlis??? After playing this course, that guy should go back to design 101.

What little I dealt with them, they were nice.

Reviewed by: Karl , Shoots in the 100s, from Peoria, IL

    Summary:
We played the course in mid-January, 2003. It's billed as a "Scottish links" course with much wildlife on the site. In truth, it's nothing like a Scottish links course, at least not like any of which I've seen photos. There are few fairway bunkers and none are the deep type seen in Scottish courses. There are no expanses of tall grass off the rough. The only thing link-ish about it is all the mounds just off the fairways. These serve as the "rough," for the grass there is nearly as closely cropped as on the fairways. The fairways were in ok shape and are nearly flat. The greens were also in ok shape. Water is found on many holes, and there are some thickets to play around. The course was moving at glacial speed, yet I was called on by the marshal for daring to walk with my clubs. He did, though, apologize for making such a ridiculous request -- it was the management's call, not his. There was some wildlife to be seen, but it was nothing special. The course shows evidence of having been "dumbed down," with several bunkers and thickets having been removed. We payed $45 for the round. I won't play there again.
