    Summary:
I'm staying at Topsail for vacation and played Belvedere CC today (8/7/11). Course was in very nice shape, fairways and greens were excellent but the tee boxes need some work. Cart paths are pretty bad in most places but that doesn't affect play. I found a great deal on GolfNow for $20 around noon. Very hot outside but that's August in NC. Not crowded at all, in fact I didn't see any other golfers after I left #1, played single in about 3 hrs. Shot 80, the greens were consistent and fair. I would play here again.

    Customer Service:
Folks were very friendly, had a refreshment cart circling the course all day.

    Summary:
Course has new management and has been doing a lot of upgrades. First off, the negative - it rained a lot around Christmas and the course was REALLY wet, so give it time to dry out after a rain. Also, they could do better about maintaining the bunkers. Many hadn't been maintained in a long time and resembled hardpan.

Now the good. The fairways and greens were in very good shape. The bermuda greens are tricky. Greens are really small by today's standards.

For the price, we had a nice time. It's a decent course when played from the tips. It's not the best course around, but it's fun and the rates are reasonable.

    Summary:
On a scale of 1 (dog track) to 10 (TPC level) I thought Belvedere was about a 5. This rating doesn't come from the course design as I thought it was very good and the course has a ton of potential, but it was not well kept either from a lack of money, talent, help, effort, or a combination of all of these. The folks in the Pro shop were very nice and accomodating. The Clubhouse would generate a lower rating than the course. Another set of tees between the Blue and White would help the playability.

    Customer Service:
    Employees were very nice
