| | Reviewed by: teambuilder, Shoots in the 80s Summary: Royal New Kent is an exceptional course, fun to play and very challenging. There are plenty of risk/reward shots and just about every hole has several options for playing it. The fairway landing areas are generous particularly those that have blind tee shots. Definitely worth repeat play. Customer Service: A very friendly, helpful staff.

| | Reviewed by: pjspider, Shoots in the 70s Summary: Great course. Part of the Traditions family (Crossings, Stonehouse, Royal New Kent). RNK is the best by far of the three. Greens are always in immaculate condition. Long. Club selection is key. Wind is always a factor with elevated tee boxes. Many tee shots blind of flag. Very few perfect lies, ball is routinely above/below feet. Customer Service: Great course. More you play it, the more you will respect it.

It's not for the weak of heart or high handicappers, but if you're a 20 or less, you owe it to yourself to play this course. Every hole is memorable. If you love a challenge, this is the place. Customer Service: Always friendly and a card for locals that get you discounts and a free round after 9 rounds.

| | Reviewed by: oscarlc, Shoots in the 80s, from Encino, CA Summary: Played in mid April 2003.
This is an excellent course with challenges of driving and scoring on every hole. This course stretches over winding fairways, forced carries and mini-hills to present plenty of blind shots. Water, elevation and fast greens makes the course tough enough with the other normal hazards of playing golf. Most fairway are open views to the fairways (of the ones seen) and the trees serve more as borders to the course or the wind.
Some holes seem perfectly carved from the forest to frame the hole. I would imagine water comes into play on a few more holes where the creek beds were a little dry as it was early in the season. The wind was a lot stronger than I would have suspected for a morning tee time and the trees protecting most of the course. The bunkers (pot and fairway) were a supreme challenge and placed in locations to make your shot making course management essential. The greens were sloped, tiered and undulating as well as fast; however, they seemed to hold shots into them fairly well.
There is no question that you will need a yardage book to know this course unless you play it regularly and this is a course that I would play regularly to measure my game against my perceived abilities. Customer Service: Great bar and food service. Pro shop and starter quite helpful.
