They don't build'em like this anymore. A great, quirky 9-hole course about 3 miles from downtown. There are lots of funny bounces. There is a premium on accuracy both off the tee and on the approach shots. You have to know on which side to miss.
Green and Fairway Conditions (like on all munis) vary with the seasons. Its soft in May and a brick in August
I'll probably never get a chance to play the Old Course, but Louisville has it's own version of the Road Hole with #6 (Traffic is 20 ft to the right of the green). It's no Valhala, but still one of my favorites.
