    Summary:
Mallard Cove is a nice golf course. For years it was rated the best public course in the state. It hit hard times for a few years but 18 months ago the greens were rebuilt and some design changes were made to a number of fairways. The course is in great shape and very playable.

    Summary:
It's been a few years since I've played at Mallard Cove but I don't imagine it has changed all that much. Mallard is a very well laid out course, I have heard it was designed by the Robert Trent Jones firm. Undulating greens, sand, water, and rough combine to present a stern test to the good golfer. I thought it was the best course in Southwest Louisiana when I lived there in the 80's. Definitely worth playing if you are in the area.
