I played the Republic GC on 6/12. I have played nearly 100 different courses, and this one easily makes the top five, if not numero uno. It is a wonderful design that is very enjoyable to play because the fairways are mostly wide, but are lined with beautiful oak/elm forest and jungle like thickets, so you don't want to miss them. The conditions were just about flawless. The huge bermuda greens were fast and true, but very tough to read for a first timer to the course. If you are in San Antonio, this one is a must play. Service was outstanding. The staff were all friendly and helpful, from the attendant in the parking lot, the starter and cart girl, to the head pro in the shop. I felt pampered. Similar Courses Played:
Canyon Springs GC, also in San Antonio, is another course that is very forgiving from the tees, but tests your short game to the max.
